Mount Maunganui is home to our very own Aeroplane Nut. Classic Flyers Cafe and Aviation is worth a visit. Classic Flyers is located at Tauranga Airport, a short drive from Belle Mer Apartments Mt Maunganui (5km).
There is a great variety of aircraft to see and even the opportunity fly in a Bi-plane, leather helmet and everything! Classic Flyers has an excellent licenced cafe as well so an ideal activity to do on a rainy day or just a visit for lunch

Mount Maunganui’s Number One activity is walking around the Mount. Hundreds of people take this walk every day, a moderate walk of 3.4km around the base of Mount Maunganui. There are two tracks available to explore the Mount. The track around the base or the Summit track where you can walk to the Top. The 232 metre High Mount Maunganui Summit walk is worth the effort. Some magnificent views of the area, you may be lucky to see one of the regular cruise ships visiting.
It just gets better here at Mount Maunganui. We not only have the beach a stones throw from Belle Mer Apartments but we also have Thermal Hot Pools close by. Mount Maunganui Hot Pools offer an excellent Hot Thermal Pool facility. Located at the foot of Mount Maunganui, 1.5 kilometres walk or 4 minute drive. Parking space can be difficult to find so walking is the much better option.
Mount Hot Pools have a range of pools for families with lower temperature pools as well as Hotter for those after more of a medical dip. Massage are offered as well with 3o minute Massages from $45.
